Coping with enlightenment

Sheryl Hamilton has been professionally active in the healing arts since 1995. During that time, she has developed and taught numerous courses and workshops to help manual therapists improve their effectiveness in treating their patients and clients. She has taught at the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York, NY and the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon, BC. She was recently hired to develop and teach the Visceral Manipulation component of the Manual Osteopathic Therapist program at the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada. She is a member of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of BC, and the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapists’ Association of North America.

Running concurrently with her professional activities, she has entered into spiritual practices to help in her quest to end suffering. She recently received Bodhisattva precepts from her teacher, Jakusho Kwong Roshi, at the Sonoma Mountain Zen Center in California. She offers Spiritual Direction sessions by Skype to support spiritual process. She believes that the pervasive belief in the idea of a separate self is the cause of most of the pain and suffering in people’s bodies today. It is time for all of us to come home to health.

She has been pain-free in her own body since 2006 and spends most of her time teaching people how to do that.
