Jason De Maria has been working as a strength and conditioning/sports performance coach for the past 17 years. Having grown up playing ice hockey and lacrosse at highly competitive levels he eventually transitioned into the coaching side of sports and earned his bachelors of science in exercise science, with a minor in theories of coaching, from Western Michigan University. Upon graduation, Jason obtained two nationally recognized post graduation certification (Performance Enhancement Specialist from National Academy of Sports Medicine and USA Olympic Weightlifting Level 1 Performance Coach from the USA Olympic Committee) and one internationally recognized certification (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from National Strength and Conditioning Association).
During his last year in college, Jason worked alongside the strength and conditioning staffs of a National Hockey League organization and a United States Hockey League organization. Immediately out of college, Jason took over as program director for a sport performance training facility with predominantly football, baseball and track athletes and worked alongside a former NFL defensive back. After 4 years of training there, Jason broke away and opened his own training facility and has been running JD Strength Performance for 7 years now. Jason now works with Stanley Cup Champion and former Chicago Blackhawk Brent Sopel as his business partner and helps many youth athletes chase their athletic dreams.
