Jason Bussell worked in inpatient psychiatry and studied pre-med before changing gears and going into Chinese Medicine. He earned his Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and was one of the first Americans to earn a PhD in acupuncture at the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in China. He has served as President of the Illinois Society of Acupuncturists, Vice-Chairman of the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation’s Acupuncture Board, and is now on the Executive Board of Directors for the American Society of Acupuncturists. He has been an adjunct professor at DePaul University’s College of Health Science, a curriculum advisor for the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and is the only acupuncturist to be awarded a post-doctoral fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Integrative Medicine service, where he worked as a Research Scholar. In addition, Dr. Bussell earned Master’s Degrees in Public Health and in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins. Dr. Bussell has authored articles for peer-reviewed, scientific journals, lay publications, and his book- The Asian Diet, has been sold in over 100 countries (www.theasiandiet.com).
