Dr. Sami earned her Bachelor’s degree at Arizona State University in 2011 majoring in Psychology; and then went on to pursue her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Chehalem Youth and Family Services in Newberg, Oregon where she worked with teens in an inpatient residential setting. She was trained to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) at the University of Washington during her internship. She completed her postdoctoral residency at both Young Mind Center and Pinnacle Center, focusing on autism and psychological assessment. During her internship and postdoctoral residency, she discovered she had a special interest providing therapy for those that may be neurodivergent; in other words, those with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Dr. Sami is currently in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona where she exclusively provides individualized treatment to her patients. She is passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults who feel like they don’t quite fit in with the”societal norms” to feel more comfortable and at ease with their individuality. Likewise, she helps others manage their anxiety, social difficulties, and depression. Dr. Sami is motivated to help decrease the stigma of therapy, and approaches therapy from a primarily non-pathologizing point-of-view.When she is not working, Dr. Sami enjoys Disneyland, yoga, fashion, going to concerts, making arts & crafts, and spending time with her husband and their 2 cats.
