Pavel S. Blagov, PhD, is a clinical psychologist in Walla Walla, WA. He studied psychology and neuroscience at Connecticut College, Emory University, and Columbia University Medical Center. Since 2009, he has been teaching at Whitman College, where he directs the Personality Laboratory. He collaborates with undergraduate research assistants on research projects about personality and mental health.
In his independent clinical practice at Insight Psychology, PLLC, Pavel offers psychotherapy and assessment. He practices from a scientifically-based, integrative perspective that bridges cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic-interpersonal approaches. This work emphasizes problem solving, emotion regulation, and personal enrichment through insight. Pavel has experience treating adjustment problems, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis, and more general difficulties with self-esteem, identity, and relationships. He also practices clinical-psychological assessment, or the scientific application of psychological tests and measures to answer complex questions about patients’ psychological and neurocognitive functioning.
